Christmas Market in Strasbourg

Christmas markets in Europe is  fast approaching. In fact,  in some cities and countries, they start their Christmas markets as early as November each year.  It is also called as Christkindlesmarkt, Christkindlmarke, Christkindlmarkt or Weihnachtsmarkt. If  I have to take a look on  these world,  I can  say that, these markets  started  in German speaking regions and countries like Germany, Austria, South Tirol and Alsace.

Two weeks ago, I booked  a trip to witness the Christmas markets in Strasbourg,  Basel and Riquewihr. It is a two days trip and I am quite  sure, we will surely enjoy our trip in  these places.  The trip will take place  on November 24-25, 2012.

I once visited the  Christmas market in Strasbourg  last December 2010. It is known as the "Capital of Christmas". Since 1570, its Christmas market is celebrated around its famous Cathedral and considered to be the oldest in France. Products such as  fir trees, Christmas decorations, cribs, ornamental figures, locally-made handicrafts, confectionery and culinary delights accompanied by mulled wine are available in the market.

That visit we had last 2010 in Strasbourg Christmas market was a  great  trip  for me, being able to  experience the culture and tradition of this city. Here are some snapshots  I had from this city.
