Musicians in Neumarkt's Volksfest

I miss watching  Neumarkt's Volksfest parade this year. It is a festival held every year in the city of Neumarkt in Upper Palatinate, Bavaria. The highlight of the festival is its parade. There you can find participants wearing colorful and various costumes. Musicians in  drum and bugle corps are also using good music instruments, thus playing  good music as well.  I am just wondering if anyone is looking for music instruments at the moment. Back to the festival, there are also carnival rides, various local  and international delicacies in the festival ground and of course live bands and shows at the beer tents. Don't miss to taste German beers and delicacies when visiting any German fair.

Oldtimertreffen in Neumarkt, Bavaria

That was my third time witnessing the so-called Oldtimertreffen in Neumarkt. I need to be  specific  since there are some cities that are also named Neumarkt in Germany. It is in the Oberpfalz or Upper Palatinate region of Bavaria in Germany.

During that event, you can see a lot of classic cars since around 1920's,  if I am not mistaken.  You just don't see any shops there that is open and sells  car accessories like motocross helmets.

The event is always held in the Altstadt or Old City.  It is held every month of June. I hope in the next event  of  Oldtimertreffen, I can see more cars that are unique and truly classical. I love it!

Neumarkt Jura Volksfest

There are a lot of festivals  going on in Bavaria, Germany. Summer time is truly festival time! Sometimes I am confuse which festival to attend first because some are  being held at the same time. One of the very famous  feast in the Oberpfalz or Upper Palatinate part of Bavaria is the Neumarkt Jura Volksfest.  It is an annual festival that takes place every month of August.

The Jura Volksfest has a long tradition in Neumarkt. The first celebration  took place in 1829 and after that, there were festivals that followed in irregular times. Since 1954, the festival was then called the Jura-Volksfest. Now, the festival is visited by over 200,000  locals and visitors. It is an eleven-day celebration. You can experience a truly Bavarian and German culture when visiting festival like this.

There are a lot of experience during the feast from carnival rides to live bands playing various music, different German and local delicacies and other programs and shows that take place during the festival period.

This year's festival takes place from August 10-20, 2012. The highlight of the program is the festival parade that takes place during the first Sunday of the event.

Shopping in Neumarkt

I guess some of you might still be busy for a last minute Christmas shopping. Not for me! I am finally done today after a little shopping in Neumarkt. I did not really find what I want but I bought almost the same stuff that I have been looking for. For my last minute New Year's shopping, I wanted a yoga block next week. I already have a yoga mat, a CD for training and even a yoga book. I am good to go for a real diet starting 2012. I believed I can do it this time. I just need to get rid of those excess pounds that I gained since living here in Europe.

The shopping I had in Neumarkt today was quite good. Besides getting some discounts I also had fun shopping under the snowy rainy day. Once the snow hits the ground, it melts immediately. Have a very Merry Christmas everyone!

Neumarkt in Upper Palatinate, Germany

It is almost midnight again. I have to slowly sign-off now because I have to wake-up early tomorrow. We will be driving to Neumarkt to to pick-up important papers. After that, we will probably go shopping for winter shoes and kitchen faucet. There is also a Weinachsmarkt or Christmas market being held at the moment in this city. Going around the kiosks and stalls that sells different products might be worth seeing. I was there with some friends last Saturday but we did not stayed so long. I hopoe this time, we have more time for shopping.

Shopping in Neumarkt, Germany

It's summer sale in Germany! I have been shopping since last week. Last Monday, we also went to Neumarkt with my friend from the U.S. and had fun shopping there. She want to buy polo boots but she said that the prices are still quite expensive for her. This is because she had been comparing dollar to euro currency. Oldtimer Auto Show in Neumarkt, Bavaria, Germany

We witnessed last month the Oldtimer treffen in Neumarkt Upper Palatinate, Bavaria in Germany. It was a very nice event because you can have the chance to see old and historical vehicles from all kinds such as bikes, motorcycles, cars, tractors and some other more. More than 500 old vehicles can be seen during the event. Here are some of the images I took during our visit.

Altstadtfest in Neumarkt i.d. Oberpfalz, Germany

I already shared some images from this festival in my other sites. Feel free to browse them in my header. Altstadtfest comes from three German words alt, stadt and fest. These German words mean simultaneously in English Old, City and festival. In short Altstadtfest in my own understanding simply means Old City Festival. if I am not mistaken this fair is always celebrated in the month of June every year. The festival was quite interesting especially if you want fun. You can simply sit down in any of the stalls here and might want to enjoy a sip of beer while listening to the live band. One thing I love during this festival are the different foods and delicacies from other countries like Turkey, Greece, Brazilian, Italian, German of course, Chinese and some other more. I suppose you want to know where to buy apidexin cheapest after tasting and eating all the different delicacies that are available during this festival. Oldtimer Meeting in Neumarkt Upper Palatinate, Germany

Today was the second Oldtimer Treffen or Meeting of old and historical cars and other forms of vehicles in Neumarkt Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany. It was a very interesting event seeing those old but beautiful cars for the first time. I am just sharing some pictures here. My Euro Travel in Freystadt in Upper Palatinate, Germany

I already started writing this post last night but was not able to finish it. I was just so tired and sleepy already. Here is a quick information about Freystadt. It is a town located in the district of Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany. It is well-known for its beautiful Pilgrimage Church named Our Lady of Perpetual Help or simply called Wallfarhtskirche Mariahilf in German. You can visit my Explore Germany site for some pictures of this church. The picture I have below is the Altstadt or Old City of Freystadt. You can see the Rathaus or Town Hall, a gray colored building on the left side, the Church's tower and some shops in this topwn. That was a perfect weather yesterday as we made a sightseeing here.

My Euro Travel to the Festival in Neumarkt, Germany

I did already mentioned and shared some pictures in my Explore Germany site about the Festival in Neumarkt which is called Jura-Volksfest. Most of the visitors of this festival are coming for neighboring places like in the Upper Palatinate region, Middle Franconia, Upper Bavaria and Upper Franconia. You can also find here different rides such as Ferris wheel, roller coaster, free fall and a lot more. Different foods and delicacies are also found in different kiosks and restaurants here. You can also expect beer and bratwurst and other German sausages. I wish to share more pictures and information about this festival next time.

Volksfest, Festival in Neumarkt, Bavaria, Germany

Good evening everyone! Let's talk about festival again. Life is just so short that we will not enjoy it. The picture below was taken during the parade of Neumarkt Volksfest in Bavaria, Germany. This celebration is also a part of Bavarian culture and tradition. It is a festival which is held in this city every year during the month of August. It usually last for a week. I guess it's been five consecutive years now that I always attend this festival. It is always fun and I love it. Last month was the first time that I witnessed their parade. I was amazed because more than hundreds of groups participated during the parade.

These horses below are huge and are also adorned with decorations. The white building you with the watch is the City Hall of Neumarkt. I was inside this building as the history of this city was told to us during my German language course. Have fun viewing the photos in this blog.

Weekend Escapades in Neumarkt Germany

It's not only hundred times that I visited Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate here in Bavaria, Germany. This is where I attended German school and almost drove here everyday for some months. Although I have been to this city for a lot of times, today was the first that I visited Landesgartenschau, the City Garden in Neumarkt. It is an amazing place to go walking and at the same time enjoy the scenery and the beauty of nature especially the flowers.

This is also my second time to go-up to the Castle named Burgruine Wolfstein. It was a great day today and I am thankful for it. It's midnight again. I will give you more updates this week..here are also some photos from today's escapades.

Funfair in Neumarkt, Germany

I guess I have been very busy posting in this blog tonight. It is already 1am and I am still here. promise this will be my last post for tonight.
