Planning for a Trip to Poland

A friend called me last night and was asking about some trips this summer. I suggested a trip to Andorra and Lourdes, France but she needs to apply for a visa in Andorra. We did not pursue with the booking since it will take time to process a visa for her. At the moment, she is still processing the renewal of her passport in the Philippine embassy in Berlin. I suggested a trip to Poland and I also told her that the hotel we will be staying has an indoor pool. She has a kid traveling with her and I am not quite sure if the little boy needs an ada pool lift when spending time inside the pool. Places to be visited during this trip to Poland are Krakow, Annaberg (Germany), Częstochowa, Wroclaw and Opole.

We will decide with whether to book this  trip when  I come back from my trip in the Balkans. My friend also needs to wait when her new passport  arrives.

Another Visit to Boleslawiec, Poland

Boleslawiec is a medieval town in Lower Silesian Voivodship, Poland. Pottery making is a long tradition in this town, thus being named as a as Miasto Ceramiki or "Ceramics City".

It was my second visit to this famous pottery town in Poland. My first visit was last May 2011. It was purely a pottery shopping trip. This time, we had the chance to have some sightseeing in its town center.

It was raining so hard when we drove to Poland last October 8, 2011 at 5:00 am. Together with some friends, we were very thankful that we arrived there and came home safely too. It was quite an adventure trip. My friend drove outside of Germany for the first time. I knew that she can do it. I admired her courage driving there.

Together with friends, I am quite happy and contented during our trip. It was a very adventurous trip and was full of surprises. One of these days, I will share some of the exciting experience we had there.

Trip to Boleslawiec, Poland

I never had an idea where we will be going during to that Poland trip. It was actually a pottery shopping somewhere in Poland. The place where we went to yesterday is called Boleslawiec. I am wondering why my image here says, "Bunzlauer Keramik". Actually this town is called Bunzlau in German and Keramik simply means ceramic.

Poland is already a member of the European Union countries but it is still not using the Euro monetary unit. I forgot to check before we leave yesterday how much is the equivalent of Euro versus Polish zloty. Don't you know that zloty literally means gold. I was thinking of a silver eagle when I think of zloty. The conversion rate that were mostly given by ceramic stores in Boleslawiec were a Euro is equal to 3.80 zloty and a U.S. dollar is 2.60 zl.
