A Visit to Mozart's Birthplace

I was trying to find images of my previous trips to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's birthplace. I believe many of know where he was born? It is in a beautiful city of Salzburg in Austria.

It was my 4th visit to this city last May 2012. My first visit was in June 2007, followed in November 2008 and July 2011.

Salzburg is very famous because the musical and film The Sound of Music was set there. I even watch this film in DVD and it was really good. I also love the soundtracks in this movie. I am just trying to remember if violin with durable violin strings was used during the play.

If you are visiting this city in the future, don't miss to climb to the Hohensalzburg fortress, visit the Cathedral, go shopping in Getreidegasse (one of the oldest streets in Salzburg), walk in Mirabell Palace or maybe taste the Mozart's chocolate.

The Birthhouse of Mozart in Salzburg, Austria

It was one of the greatest birth announcements in the classical music world! The birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. I believed you are very familiar with this name. A famous composer and musician who composed over 600 works. I am happy to visit the birthplace of this famous classical composer.

The yellow house you see in the image here was taken during my second visit in Salzburg, Austria. Mozart's birthplace at Getreidegasse 9 in Salzburg is now a museum that displays his music instruments, portraits and letters from the Mozart family. The famous exhibits include Mozart's child violin, his concert violin, his clavichord and the harpsichord.

A Walk in Getreidegasse in Salzburg, Austria

Let's get going and travel Europe again! It's been a long time that I did not share about Austria. This time I am sharing about hte famous street in this city. The Getreidegasse, called in English as the Grain Lane is a busy and famous shopping street in the Altstadt or Old City of Salzburg. Good that I did not find here an ipod touch or else I might be buying one during my trip last time. Getreidegasse is one of the oldest streets in Salzburg. If you notice in my image here, you can see a lot of wrought-iron guild signs hanging above the building shops.

This street is also famous because Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a well-known son of this city was born in this street at house at no. 9. Mozart is a famous composer and musician.

I had been to this city twice and if given the chance, I will still go back here in the future. I love this city!

Winter Trip to Gut Aiderbichl in Salzburg, Austria

It is almost two years now since me and my friend visited the Animal Sanctuary in Gut Aiderbichl in Salzburg, Austria. It was my first winter trip to Austria and it was a nice experience. The Aiderbichl Animal Sanctuary has more than a thousand of animals in their farms. The founder's name is Michael Aufhauser and yes, I had seen him in person during our visit last November 2008. Here you can find rescued animals of all kinds. Gut Aiderbichl is such a perfect paradise for these animals.

Featured Article: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart toured Italy

It took me awhile to upload this image here. I guess my pc needs a replacement soon. Finally, I was able to upload it. That yellow house you see here is the birthhouse of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a famous musician and composer. This was taken during my second visit in Salzburg, Austria last November 2008.

I decided to share the featured article below because it seems to be very interesting sharing the life of one of the famous people of all times. Feel free to find me in the image below. Have a great weekend too!
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart toured Italy with his father Leopold three times between 1769 and 1773. The first, financed by performances for the nobility and by public concerts, was an extended tour of 15 months to a number of major Italian cities. The second and third journeys were to Milan, for Wolfgang to complete operas that had been commissioned there on the first visit. From the perspective of Wolfgang's musical development the journeys were a considerable success, and his talents were recognised by honours which included a papal knighthood and memberships in leading philharmonic societies. Each of Wolfgang's operas written for Milan's Teatro Regio Ducal was a critical and popular triumph. In the course of the three visits he met many leading musicians in Italy, including the renowned theorist Giovanni Battista Martini, under whom he studied in Bologna. Leopold also hoped that Wolfgang, and possibly he himself, would obtain a prestigious appointment at one of the Italian Habsburg courts. more here

Petersfriedhof in Salzburg, Austria

Let's visit Europe again. This time we will see one of Salzburg's main sights. Petersfriedhof, also called in English as St. Peter's Cemetery is considered to be the oldest Christian cemetery in Salzburg, Austria. You can find here the graves of the many well-known and prominent people like the composer Michael Haydn and the cathedral architect Santino Solari.

You can find the Gothic St. Margaret Chapel in the middle of the cemetery which was built in 1491. Here are some images taken during our visit last June 2007.

Mozart Monument in Salzburg, Austria

I have been browsing for half an hour now of a picture to share here. I finally found a picture taken in Salzburg, Austria, the birthplace of the famous composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Salzburg, also known literally as "Salt Fortress" is the 4th largest city in Austria. It is the capital of the federal state of Salzburg.

The image I have below is the Denkmal or monument of Mozart located in Salzburg, Austria. This was taken during my first visit in this city last June 2007. I already visited this city twice and the last one was in November 2008.

it's me striking in front of Mozart's monument in Salzburg, Austria last June 2007

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , baptismal name Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart (27 January 1756 – 5 December 1791), was a prolific and influential composer of the Classical era. He composed over 600 works, many acknowledged as pinnacles of symphonic, concertante, chamber, piano, operatic, and choral music. He is among the most enduringly popular of classical composers.

Mozart showed prodigious ability from his earliest childhood in Salzburg. Already competent on keyboard and violin, he composed from the age of five and performed before European royalty; at 17 he was engaged as a court musician in Salzburg, but grew restless and traveled in search of a better position, always composing abundantly. While visiting Vienna in 1781, he was dismissed from his Salzburg position. He chose to stay in the capital, where he achieved fame but little financial security. During his final years in Vienna, he composed many of his best-known symphonies, concertos, and operas, and the Requiem. The circumstances of his early death have been much mythologized. He was survived by his wife Constanze and two sons. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolfgang_Amadeus_Mozart

Somewhere in Salzburg, Austria

I just select randomly the picture from Salzburg, Austria. This was taken during our visit last June 2007. I visited Salzburg twice already. The second one was last November 2008. If I have the chance I would like to visit it again next time. I don't expect to find here apidexin but for sure I was able to see the Castle in Salzburg and some other sights here. I believed this picture was taken near the Church in Salzburg because during our visit last 2007, it was still under repair. That is the reason why you see fences around the Church. Feel free to browse my category here to find more images from Salzburg.

My Euro Travel to the Horse Pond in Salzburg, Austria

I believed I already have enough of England during my previous posts. I guess this time, let's go back to Austria especially to the city of Salzburg. I am standing right in front of the so-called Pferdeschwemme in German or the Horse Pond. This was built in 1695. This was where the horses of the archbishops were being washed.

I would also like to share a travel tip for tonight. I know some people who are using credit cards when they travel. There is nothing wrong with that as long as you can pay it back. I am doing the same sometimes especially when emergency arises. Sometimes there are people who get addicted in using credit card not thinking whether they can pay it back or not. I know a friend before who have the same problem. It happened sometimes that when the salary of her husband comes, there is no more left in it that she had to run to me to ask for some financial help. I believed they are always over spending to the point that they can no longer take care of their financial needs. I guess it is time for them to do debt relief. In the US and maybe some countries in the world, there are financial companies who help people get-out from their debts. Federal Consumer Relief is one of the companies in the US who offers assistance to people who have difficulties in paying back their debts. I guess you are lucky because they offer free debt consultation.

For those who are traveling or spending their vacation, be sure to save money first before having fun . I am starting to save some money now because a friend will visit me and we might have a Europe trip in August. I hope it will materialized.

Salzburg, Austria

I guess I have enough about Vienna, Austria. Let's visit this time Salzburg, Austria. I have been to this city twice already. My first visit was in June 2007 and the second one was in November 2008. I felt sorry because I really don't have good pictures from this city. I hope to visit it again and take good photos. I just ordered a lens camera and maybe in my next visit, you can already see better pictures. This was taken in Salzburg Residenzplatz or Imperial Residence Plaza. Residenz is usually a palace where the Royal family live during those times. I can't stay too long this afternoon, I have to fix some office supplies to be packed-up inside my balikbayan box. I will be sending one again next week. I am afraid that I am having an excess weight in the plane. It is time for me to slowly pack-up now. More updates in my other blogs! Have a great day!

My Euro Travel in Prague, Czech Republic

Let's go travel again! This is one of the pictures I just browsed in my files. I randomly select it for my entry today. This was taken during our visit in Prague, the capital city of Czech Republic last September 2008. I am trying to remember now if that tower is one of the bridge towers of the Charles Bridge. Don't you know that Prague is also the biggest city of Czech Republic? Yes, it is. Just have fun watching my photos here! Feel free to browse my categories in my sidebar for more pictures!

My Euro Travel in Salzburg, Austria

I'm here again! I'm feeling fresh after relaxing inside the bath tub for almost an hour. We are visiting this time Salzburg, one's of Austria's great city and its 4th largest city. In the picture here, you can see Neptunbrunnen or the so-called Neptune's Fountain. It was built in 1772 by the sculptor Anton Pfaffinger and was one of the horse ponds of the Cathedral Chapter.

This city was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage in 1997. I find Salzburg very interesting and also worthy to visit. I will also share some more photos of the places and cities I visited in Austria. have fun viewing the photos in this site! I hope you also travel Europe through this blog.
going to places without taking a pose is not worthy...here is my photo in front of Neptune's Fountain.

GEOGRAPHY
Salzburg is on the banks of the Salzach river, at the northern boundary of the Alps. The mountains to Salzburg's south contrast with the rolling plains to the north. The closest alpine peak – the 1972 m Untersberg – is only a few kilometers from the city center. The Altstadt, or "old town", is dominated by its baroque towers and churches and the massive FestungHohensalzburg. This area is surrounded by two smaller mountains, the Mönchsberg and Kapuzinerberg as the green lung of the city. Salzburg is approximately 150 km east of Munich, 281 km northwest of Ljubljana, and 300 km west of Vienna. wikipedia
