Passing-by at Burglengenfeld Castle in Bavaria, Germany

We went to this town yesterday to buy pellets for our heater. We are currently using electric heater and pellets oven to keep the house warm. HB said that since he live in Hohenfels for around 25 years now, this is the first time he experience the tremendous cold and snow during winter time. You can at the image below the tower of Burglengenfeld castle. The tower of St. Vitus Church is also visible in the picture. I can't remember exactly how many did I already visit this town. Probably around hundred times since I live in Germany. This town is around 20 minutes drive from where we live. Here is the photo I took personally.
Burglengenfeld is situated in the district of Schwandorf, in the state of Bavaria on the Naab River. The castle is relatively recent, compared to European standards. It was constructed during the 18th century by a noble family and is today used as a home for special needs children.

It's Snowing in Germany

Good morning! Here is the night owl again sharing some photos from the earliest snow that she experience in her whole life in Germany. Last Thursday as I went grocery shopping, it was already snowing but not so much. Yesterday it was snowing quite hard. This is the earliest snow that I experience in our place after six years of living here. We have been turning sometimes our electric heater. Another wooden heater is also running from afternoon until midnight or till I go to sleep. I simply love the warm of the wooden heater or fireplace compared to electric. HB also ordered a pellet-oven for use as heating. I guess it is economical compared to electric heater. Imagine we saved around a thousand Euros a year as we started to use our fireplace. In a few days, we might have already the pellet- oven or heater that HB ordered. I need to stay warm in this very cold season.

Here are some photos I took yesterday as we drove to Burglengenfeld, a municipality that is around 20 minutes drive from us.

This is the castle in Burglengenfeld. I took this photo as I was standing in front of the clinic where HB had an appointment yesterday. sorry guys, the photos I have here are not really professionally taken. I just love to click my camera but I don't edit them. How I wish to be a good photographer..wink! goodnight! time for the night owl to sign-off!

Visiting Burglengenfeld Again and Again

How many times I have been to this town already? I guess more than fifty times since 2003. I sometimes go for grocery shopping in Burglengenfeld, a town here in Bavaria Germany. I also go to the doctor here sometimes. My husband's broken ankle was also operated last August 2007 in the hospital in Burglengenfeld. I seldom go around in this town because I only go to the grocery shops here. Today I had the chance to go a bit in the old town and also visited the old St. Vitus Church for the first time. This Church was built around 1135. ..very old huh! I was not able to go to the top of the castle because my husband was still in the doctor. We don't have enough time to go there. I got some photos anyway because you can see the castle from the clinic where my husband had an appointment. I guess my husband's knee will also be operated anytime. It is also caused by his bike accident last 2007. I just hope that my husband's guaranteed issue life insurance will have a better proceeds next year. We will see! more update tomorrow guys! have fun viewing!
taken in front of the clinic where my husband had an appointment..see that Burglengenfeld castle from afar? want to go there next time!...the photo above is the St. Vitus Church, a Catholic Church in this town.
