The Albertina Museum in Vienna, Austria

When I visited Brussels in August 2010, we happened to pass-by a large building with a sign Albertina. I remembered that time that I also happened to see Albertina in Vienna, Austria. In fact, I have an image below where my friend took a pose of me with Albertina on my background.

Don't you know that Albertina is a museum that houses one of the largest and most important print rooms in the world with approximately 65,000 drawings and approximately 1 million old master prints, as well as more modern graphic works, photographs and architectural drawings. Thanks to wikipedia for this information.

The next time, I visit Vienna, I surely want to go inside of this museum.

My Euro Travel in Vienna, Austria

It seems that I was absent in this blog for a couple of days. Now I am finally back! It also seems that we cannot upload pictures in blogger now. I borrowed a picture from my friendster account. This is quite large but maybe sometimes is also fine. So where is place? This was taken in front of St. Stephan Cathedral in Vienna, Austria. I was amazed as I saw the beauty of Vienna. The first time I was there, I immediately told myself that I will be backed in this city next time.

I guess most of you know that Vienna is the capital of Austria. It is also the largest city of Austria and the centre of political , economic and cultural activities. That's all I can say for Vienna now. You can also find below some information about St. Stephan Cathedral.

St. Stephen's Cathedral (German: Stephansdom) is the mother church of the Archdiocese of Vienna and the seat of the Archbishop of Vienna, Christoph Cardinal Schönborn, OP. Its current Romanesque and Gothic form seen today, situated at the heart of Vienna, Austria in the Stephansplatz, was largely initiated by Rudolf IV and stands on the ruins of two earlier churches, the first being a parish church consecrated in 1147. As the most important religious building in Austria's capital, the cathedral has born witness to many important events in that nation's history and has become one of the city's most recognizable symbols.

Vienna, one of the cities that I love in Europe. This was taken last June 2007 during my first adventure to Vienna with a friend. They are making some excavation at the fenced part in my background. I guess they are trying to find some historical relics here. I can't exactly remember what is the name of the street here..any idea? now i finally search where is this place. This was taken in Michaelerplatz where they found some Roman ruins...thanks to Wikipedia for this great info..here is a little info about Vienna.

Remembering my trip in Vienna, Austria last June 2007. I love this capital city of Austria..Of course, I still want to be back there next time. This was taken in front of St. peters cathedral. It was a trip full of fun and adventure. such a memorable one!!

Austrian Parliament in Vienna, Austira

Vienna the capital of Austria is one of the most beautiful cities I had been too here in Europe. I was really amazed by the beauty and charm of this city. I love it here!!The old but beautiful buildings that tells us of Vienna's history are the that really amazed me..As we went around the city, all I can say was Wow....beautiful!! hope to be back there next time!!

The Austrian Parliament Building, (German: Parlament or Hohes Haus, formerly the Reichsratsgebäude), is where the two Houses of the Parliament of Austria conduct their sittings. The building lies at the Ringstraße in the first district Innere Stadt in Vienna, close by the Hofburg Imperial Palace and the Palace of Justice.

The main construction lasted from 1874 to 1883. The architect responsible for the building was Baron Theophil von Hansen, the building is an example of Greek revival. The architect von Hansen designed the building as an ensemble, where each piece harmonised with the rest. He was therefore also responsible for the interior decoration such as statues, paintings, furniture, chandeliers, and other elements. One of the building's most famous features is the statue of Athena and the fountain, a notable Viennese tourist attraction. Despite heavy damages and destruction during World War II, most of the interior has been restored to its original appearance.

The parliament building covers over 13,500 square meters, making it one of the largest structures on the Ringstraße. It was constructed to house the two chambers of the Reichsrat, the legislature of the Austrian part (Cisleithania) of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Today, the parliament building is seat of the National Council (Nationalrat) and the Federal Council (Bundesrat). It contains over 100 rooms, the most important of which are the Chambers of the National Council, the Federal Council and the former imperial House of Representatives (Abgeordnetenhaus). The building also includes committee rooms, libraries, lobbies, dining-rooms, bars and gymnasiums. It is the site of important state ceremonies, most notably the swearing-in ceremony of the President of Austria and the state speech on National Day on each October 26. The building is very closely associated with the two Houses, as shown by the use of "Hohes Haus" as a metonym for "Parliament". Parliamentary offices overspill into nearby buildings such as the Palais Epstein.
