Enjoyed the Live Shows During that Cruise in Greece

I believed, I am ready to take another round of cruise trip. Although, I have seasickness sometimes, I was so thankful that I did not had it during my recent cruise trip. And yes, it was so far an awesome cruise trip in Greece. This country has a lot to offer to its guests and visitors inspite the financial and economic crisis it is facing right now. I really don't want to talk about it but I would love to share the fun and enjoyment I had during that vacation.

It was not my first cruise trip but already the fourth one. One thing I love during cruise holidays are the live shows and entertainment you can have in the ship. It is a great swimming hotel where you can have everything. 

I Miss the Entertainment During that Cruise in Scandinavia

It was indeed a luxury cruise and I miss it. I also miss my travel buddies who are in the other side of the planet now. I also miss those times when I can travel anytime and anywhere I want to. I am still hoping that I can still do it in the future. With the current job I have now, I can no longer do the many escapades I did before.

 That  luxury cruise in Scandinavia was an awesome experience. I did not only have fun but I also had a wonderful time with a friend. She is now back in the United States and I am hoping one day, we can travel together again.

What I also miss are the live entertainments  on board especially  the live bands and the live performances on stage.For sure those singers, guitarists, drummers together  with their musical instruments  use  fender stratocaster tremolo  all the time. One night while watching a live band on board, one thing that touched  me was the song that was performed so beautifully  with that female singer.  It  was one of my favorite songs by Mariah Carey and I can listen to it all the time.

I wish,  I can  suill do another  cruise this year and hoping that it will be in the Caribbean.  Crossing my fingers! Have a wonderful one folks!

Visiting Salzburg, the Birthplace of the Famous Composer Mozart

It great to browse some photo albums from my previous travels. It took me almost two hours seeing some pictures from Turkey, Czech Republic, Italy, Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Hungary, Austria, United States of America, Canada, Lithuania, Sweden, Russia, England, Ireland and a lot more. I can't imagine traveling to over 30 countries as of now. Thanks God for the opportunity to see and experience many places and countries inspite living a simple life. Indeed, I felt blessed!

It has been my wish to visit Salzburg, a beautiful city in Austria. And if you are more familiar with this city, it is also the birthplace of the famous 18th-century composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Salzburg is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997 due to its internationally renowned beautiful baroque architecture. It is also one of the best-preserved city centres north of the Alps.

I have been to Salzburg for the fourth time already. I accompanied some friends in all of my visits there. One of my favorite streets in this city is the Getreidegasse, literally means the "Grain Street". This is where you can find a lot of signature shops. There is also a music house or a store that sells various music instruments. If you cannot visit Salzburg and want to buy shopping online is the best thing to do. For example, an alto sax mouthpiece from musicians friend is also a good choice if you are looking for one.

Experiencing some musical shows in Salzburg  is oen of  the things I miss during  my visits. Although, I already visited it four times, we only spent a day during my visits. I hope in my next visit, I can already have some overnights there.

Nice to Remember that Luxury Cruise in Scandinavia

It is almost a year now since the luxury cruise we had in Scandinavia. It was so far a fantastic experience joining that holiday. Some of the things I cannot forgot from that trip were the various entertainments we had every night, the foods served on their restaurants and the experience of seeing beautiful cities in Scandinavia including Oslo, Norway and Copenhagen, Denmark.

 One of my favorite shows at night are the live music including the singing and dancing at the Theatrium. It is in the center of the ship which can be used as a nightclub. For sure you can see some music sheet stands when the singers are performing.

I am missing that cruise so badly because of the very memorable moments I had. The fun, various cuisines I tasted, entertainments and the exciting experiences I had from that cruise holiday were simply priceless. Thanks to a dear friend who joined me during that trip, or else I won't be able to go alone. I am really thankful to her and indeed she is a great travel companion.

Backed from Our Baltic Cruise Trip

Thanks God for another safe trip! And yes, I am finally backed from our recent trip in the Baltic region. I am actually back over a week ago but I was just busy with many things both online and offline. It was a combination of bus and cruise trip. It was so far a good one visiting cities in four countries including Stockholm, Tallinn, St. Petersburg and Helsinki.

We spent 6 nights in a ship, 4 nights in Princess Anastasia (St. Peters Line) and 2 nights in Stena line. It was not really a luxury cruise like what I had in Scandinavia last spring of this year. Despite of that, I am still very grateful to experience those places.

It was raining when we arrived in Stockholm. We don't have the chance to go walking in the city center due to limited time. I believed it was the fault of the bus company who picked-up us late. We only had a tour with the bus and the tour guide was telling us many things about the city. On our 6th day, we also had a mini-cruise in Stockholm.

After Stockholm, we visited Tallinn. There are a lot of things to see in this city and a half-day sightseeing is not enough to experience all. Tallinn's Old Town is in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It is ranked as a global city and has been listed among the top 10 digital cities in the world. The city was a European Capital of Culture for 2011, along with Turku in Finland. I am glad that once in my life I stepped on the ground of Tallinn. Who knows one day, I can visit it again and maybe this time, a longer visit to Estonia's capital.

We have to say goodbye to Tallinn, to proceed with our next destination, the beautiful city of St. Petersburg. There is only one things I can say, so far as of now, I can say that for me St. Petersburg is the most beautiful city I experience in this world. I have been to many cities in over 30 countries but I find St. Petersburg the most beautiful one. I wish I can stay there for a week or two to see and experience everything. If someone will sponsor my trip, I can probably do it again. lolz!

The next city we visited was Helsinki. Finland's capital and largest city is also very interesting. It is in the region of Uusimaa, located in southern Finland, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland, an arm of the Baltic Sea. I love especially the Senate's Square where you can find the Helsinki Cathedral, the Government Palace, main building of the University of Helsinki, and Sederholm house (Sederholmin talo), oldest building of central Helsinki dating from 1757. The statue of Alexander II is also located at the center of this square. I had a great time walking along the harbour of Helsinki. That time there was market going on where you can find many products and items in different stalls and kiosks.

On the 6th day, we arrived again in Stockholm where we had a mini-cruise. After that, our bus drove us to Trelleborg where our next ferrycruise was waiting, the Stena line who will bring us back to Germany.

I conclude that trip was not really a perfect one since I did not really experience a perfect trip but I am verxy thankful that I had the chance to visit many cities and countries like in Baltic region and Scandinavia.

Travel Confirmation Received from our Trip to Scandinavia

The countdown is about to begin!  The other weekend on July 13, 2013, I finally received our travel confirmation for our trip to Scandinavia. I am quite excited about this trip because  we will be visiting four countries in this region.  Places to be visited in this trip  are  Helsinki, St. Petersburg, Tallinn and Stockholm.

My  cruise trip  in Scandinavia boarding Aidabella and visiting  Oslo and Copenhagen last April 30 to May 4, 2013.

I  actually booked this travel last year in November.  That time I received  an offer in one of the travel agencies where I  also booked my trips. It is a combination of cruise and bus trips. I invited some friends to go with me and they decided to do so.  One of my friends invited her sister from Canada to visit  Europe and also decided to go with us.

These cities  that are included in the itinerary are only some of the cities I wish to visit in Scandinavia. I have been to some places and cities in this region including some Baltic ones and I am glad that I booked this trip.  We actually saved 200 Euros because we booked it earlier.  This semi-cruise trip costs almost 800.00 Euros including the bus trip from Bavaria to Rostock (where the cruise trip will commence), overnights in our swimming hotel at the ship,  breakfast, tours and tour guides to these cities and all port fees.  Our one day visit in St. Petersburg, Russia is also visa-free.

This is the advantage of planning and booking our trip earlier, most of the times we can get  cheaper ones.

I believed I need to  slowly finish some offline chores before the trip will begin. One more thing, this is the first I will be celebrating my birthday in a ship. I am  really excited about it. Thanks Goodness for everything especially for all the opportunities to travel to many places and countries. I am hoping  for more travels in the future and also wish for good health always for me, my family, relatives and friends.

The Beautiful Town of Budva, Montenegro

 It is a month now since my  trip to the Balkan Peninsula or Southeast Europe. One of the places we visited was Budva.  It is a coastal in Montenegro and considered to be its centre of tourism.  It is the central part of Montenegrin coast, called "Budvanska Rivijera". It has developed around a small peninsula, on which the old town is situated.

Budva is famous for  its for its diverse nightlife, sandy beaches,  and examples of Mediterranean architecture.

According to our tour guide, Budva is a historical city and is 3,500 years old. No wonder it is considered as  one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic sea coast. There is also a legend  that Jelena, our tour guide explained to us. Here it is;

A legend recounts that Budva was founded by Cadmus the Phoenician, a hero exiled out of Thebes, Greece, finding a shelter in this place for him and his wife, Harmonia. Two other civilizations also left innumerable traces: the Greek and the Roman (then named Butua). Upon the fall of the Roman empire and its division into east and west, the defensive barrier which separated the two powers happened to run across this area, subsequently making a lasting impact on the history and culture of this town. In the Middle Ages, Budva was reigned by a succession of Doclean kings, as well as Serbian and Zetan aristocrats.

I believed I am very lucky to visit this town. I traveled with the group of the the most-traveled people in this planet. We stayed in a beautiful 4-star hotel in Avala, located just near the beach. I could say that trip I had in Southeast Europe last month was all worth it considering the many places and countries I experienced.

Visiting Park Guell in Barcelona, Spain

When I first visited Spain last  December 2011, I told myself that I must also visit Barcelona one day.  During my first visit, we had a sightseeing in  some of the cities in Andalusian region including Cordoba, Seville and Granada. We also visited Madrid  and Toledo that time.

I visited it  again for the second time in March 2012 hoping to get a temporary job in Madrid.  That job did not materialized. It is a long story and I  will try to share it next time. While staying in  Spain's capital city for almost three weeks, I did some sidetrips to Avila, Guadalajara, Alcala de Henares, Aranjuez and  El Escorial. During my stay there, I also had the chance to visit most  corners  of the city.I will never get lost in Madrid because this is the only city in Europe  where I explored most.

My visit in Spain happened for the third time. Last summer 2012 in July, my friends invited me for a bus trip  from Germany to Catalonia's capital city.  It was a very exhausting long long trip but we  enjoyed it  a lot. To make the story short,  I finally  visited Barcelona.

One of the sights we visited is  Park Güell. It is located on the hill of El Carmel in the Gracia district of Barcelona. The famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi designed and built it from 1900 to 1914.

We had a walk around the park.  The weather was quite hot that time  despite being cloudy. I was informed that the best time to visit Barcelona is during autumn season, in October or November.  During our walk, I saw the Gaudi House Museum, the dragon or salamander mosaic at the entrance of the park, the viaduct, colonnade partway, mosaic on the ceiling of Hypostyle Room and the pavilion at the entrance.

Park Güell or Parc Güell in Catalan is not listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites under "Works of Antoni Gaudi. I still wish to visit this park again.

Snapshots from Seville Spain- The Plaza de España

I was browsing some of my photo albums in my external hard drive. I found out that it is exactly a year now since I and my friend paid a visit to the beautiful city of Seville in Spain. Known in Spanish as Sevilla, it is a beautiful capital city of Andalusia region known for its architecture, culture and many interesting sights.

One of the  sights we visited in  Seville  was the Plaza de España or the Spain Square. I never forgot one of the things we did as we were there. What can you do when nature is calling and you have nowhere to go. This square is located in the Parque de María Luisa or the Maria Luisa Park. It has a Renaissance  Revival style  in Spanish architecture.

Since our time is very limited during our visit, we ended up not going all around the Plaza de  España. I still wish to visit this city again.

A Visit to Mozart's Birthplace

I was trying to find images of my previous trips to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's birthplace. I believe many of know where he was born? It is in a beautiful city of Salzburg in Austria.

It was my 4th visit to this city last May 2012. My first visit was in June 2007, followed in November 2008 and July 2011.

Salzburg is very famous because the musical and film The Sound of Music was set there. I even watch this film in DVD and it was really good. I also love the soundtracks in this movie. I am just trying to remember if violin with durable violin strings was used during the play.

If you are visiting this city in the future, don't miss to climb to the Hohensalzburg fortress, visit the Cathedral, go shopping in Getreidegasse (one of the oldest streets in Salzburg), walk in Mirabell Palace or maybe taste the Mozart's chocolate.

Riga, the Paris of the Baltic States

Another wish was fulfilled when I visited Riga recently. This city is the capital of Latvia and its largest city. It is also  the second largest city in  Eastern Baltic but the largest city of the Baltic States. It is also dubbed as the "Paris of the Baltics". I believed it is because of its setting.

Not many people especially who are not from Europe are quite not familiar with the Baltic States, also known as the Baltic Countries or simply Baltics.

 Let me introduce this part of Europe first. If you have to look at the map of Europe, the Baltic States are on the boundary of Russia, Poland and Belarus. These are actually the countries, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. They are the territories east of Baltic Sea which gained independence from the Russian Empire in the wake of World War I.

Let's go back to Riga. Like any other cities in Europe, you can see a lot of historical old buildings in this city. Many of these have been restored and repaired. It is home to the largest concentration of Jugendstil or German Art Nouveau architecture in the world. This is one of the reasons why Riga is becoming popular to many tourists  not only in Europe but worldwide as well.

Among the interesting sights you can visit in Riga  is located mostly in the Old Town. The Statue of Roland, the House of Blackheads, Museum of the Occupation of Latvia, Town Hall, St. Peter's Church are among the few ones. The Riga Cathedral, Riga Castle, the House of the Three Brothers, the Freedom are also worth to see.

Walking Around Buen Retiro Park in Madrid, Spain

It was one sunny afternoon when I decided to go walking in Madrid. From Plaza de Manuel Becerra , I just walked going to Buen Retiro Park. It is only around 2.5 kilometers from my departure point. I took me around 25 minutes to walk including the photo stops I made in between especially when I see interesting monuments and buildings along the streets to Buen Retiro Park. It is also the largest park in the city of Madrid.

I did enjoyed my walk in this park which literally means "Gardens" or "Park of the Pleasant Retreat".

The Monument to King Alfonso XII is located in Buen Retiro Park (El Retiro), Madrid, Spain. The monument is situated on the east edge of an artificial lake near the center of the park. The monument is 30 meters high, 86 meters long, and 58 meters wide I took this image during my visit last March 16, 2012.

The Buen Retiro Park is a large and popular 1.4 km2 (350 acres) park at the edge of the city center, very close to the Puerta de Alcalá and not far from the Prado Museum. A magnificent park, filled with beautiful sculpture and monuments, galleries, a peaceful lake and host to a variety of events, it is one of Madrid's premier attractions. The park is entirely surrounded by the present-day city.

A Tour Inside Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid, Spain

During my first visit in Madrid last December 2011, I already saw this stadium. Finally last Monday, March 26, 2012, I already had the chance to have a tour inside Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. It was a great experience being inside one of the world's most famous and prestigious football venues.

Santiago Bernabeu Stadium was inaugurated on 14 December 1947. It is owned by Real Madrid Club de Fútbol and has a capacity of over 80,000 spectators. Formerly known as El Bernabeu, it was renamed in in honour of their former chairman Santiago Bernabéu Yeste.

Our tour lasted around 3 hours including shopping in its souvenir shop. We did saw and experienced a lot including its history.

It has hosted the European Cup final on four occasions: in 1957, 1969, 1980, and the UEFA Champions League Final in 2010. The finals for the 1964 European Nations' Cup and the 1982 World Cup have also been held at the Bernabéu.

The stadium is served by its own metro station along the Line 10 called Santiago Bernabéu. It is also served by bus routes 14, 27, 40, 43, 120, 147 and 150.

I am currently in Madrid and had the chance to explore Spain's capital city. I did not knew it until a friend told me that Dr. Jose Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines has a statue in Madrid, Spain. I was challenged after knowing that Dr. Rizal really has a monument in this city. Being a traveller and exploreR, I did not hesitated to go to Islas Filipinas alone. I rode the Metro from Sol going to Islas Filipinas. With the help of the map, I finally found the statue of Dr. Jose Rizal last Tuesday, March 27, 2012.

Galerie de la Reine Koninginne in Brussels, Belgium

I am trying to think what to share here today. I just browsed and browsed my photo albums in my external hard drive and found this interesting building in Brussels, Belgium. You can see the name of this building because I also took an image of it. This is the Galerie de la Reine Koninginne, also known in French as The Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert and in Dutch, it is called Koninklijke Sint-Hubertusgalerijen.

We just happened to pass-by here while looking for the travel agency where we booked our bus tour to Amsterdam, Netherlands. This building is actually a glazed shopping arcade in Brussels. I guess the shops were still not open during the time we were there. It was still so early for such shopping arcade to open at 7:00 a.m.

I guess I have to stop now because the tour guide for our bus trip to Amsterdam is already coming. Just kidding folks. We really don't have have the chance to explore the interior of this building. I would love to do it in my next visit there.

Downing Street in London, England

I might not be able to see the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and the Chancellor of the Exchequer but I did had the chance to see the building where live. Yes, I was in Downing Street in London, England. It is not so far from the Houses of Parliament and you can just walk from there.

Here are some of the snapshots I took during my three weeks trip in England last 2008.

Downing street was built in the 1680s by Sir George Downing (1632–1689) on the site of a mansion called Hampden House.

The Prime Minister's official residence is 10 Downing Street; the Chancellor's official residence is next door at Number 11.

Sidetrips To Do While in Madrid

I am quite busy during the past weeks looking for cheap international flights not only in Europe but also to other destinations including the United States of America and Canada. The first one I booked some weeks ago is my flight to Spain next month. Yes, I finally had my ticket confirmation. It will be a long stay in Spain and I will be staying most of the time in Madrid. Due to this, I am currently planning some sidetrips when I am in Spain's capital city. I can't imagine myself staying for 6 long weeks in Spain.

These are some of the places I would love to include in my sidetrip itinerary.

Avila- This city is very famous for great and beautifully preserved medieval city walls. It also has numerous churches with romanesque and gothic architecture. Its stunning Gothic Cathedral with its unusual military air is also one of the city's famous monuments. Avila is located in the autonomous community of Castile and Leon in Spain.

I am planning to take a cheap train from Madrid-Chamartin station going to Avila.

Toledo- For me, this is a very beautiful city. I was there twice last year and I will try my best to visit it again when I will be in Madrid next month. This city which is located above Tagus River is truly a must-to-see when you are in Spain especially when you are in Madrid. Due to its monumental and cultural heritage, Toledo is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1986.

Some of the reasons why I want to go back there again is to go inside its museums and to taste again its delicious Mazapan. I love the mazapan at Confiteria Santo Tome. It is quite expensive but its worth the price. There are just a lot to see and to experience in this city especially its historical architecture and monuments.

From Madrid, there are buses available for transportation. Taking the renfe trains is also possible.

Segovia-Another splendid and lovely city perched up on a rock in the autonomous community of Castile and Leon. Also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Segovia is famous for its aqueduct. It is located within the Iberian Peninsula, near Valladolid and Madrid. I would to see there the Alcazar, the Aqueduct, Segovia's Cathedral, the Casa de los Picos and other interesting sights in this city.

San Lorenzo de El Escorial- This is not so far from Madrid and I can surely make a day trip there. Its main attraction is the the world famous Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial. It is one of the main Spanish Renaissance monuments and also listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

I am also planning to visit Barcelona and Lisbon in Portugal. When I was browsing the internet today, I found some cheap flights in Easyjet from Madrid to Lisbon. I am actually thinking of booking it anytime soon. I need to finalize all my trips before the end of this month and I hope to have a wonderful time again in Spain.

Visiting Shakespeare in Stratford-Upon-Avon, England

I might not be able to meet William Shakespeare in person but it was an honor for me to visit his birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon. I believed you are very familiar about this famous English playwright and poet who was considered as a the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist.

Stratford-upon-Avon is a historic town located in the English county of Warwickshire. We had a day sightseeing in this town and it was truly a great one. We had a walk around the old town. Some of the sights we visited are the birth house of William Shakespeare, the Holy Trinity Church where the rest of Shakespeare was buried and the old town itself.

I'm Going Back to Spain!

I did not expect that I can go back to Spain soon. Yes, I already had a confirmation of my plane ticket. Thanks to a friend's connection who gave me the chance to be there. I did not believed that within a span of three months I can go back there again. My first trip to Spain was last December 2011 and next month I will be there again. This time it will be a work and travel adventure. With my one and a half months stay there, I wish to explore more of Spain. I am very happy when my friend told me that my trip was confirmed already. I am quite excited about it. I am more excited because I will be staying in Spain's capital city of Madrid. Imagine that? God always finds a way in making all my dreams and wishes slowly coming true. Thank you dear Lord for all your goodness to me. Thank you so much for everything!

The Fisherman's Bastion in Budapest, Hungary

The Halászbástya or Fisherman's Bastion takes its name from the guild of fishermen that was responsible for defending this stretch of the city walls in the Middle Ages. It is a viewing terrace, with many stairs and walking paths in Budapest, Hungary.

Below is the snapshot I took during our visit last August 2011.

he Halászbástya or Fisherman's Bastion is a terrace in neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque style situated on the Buda bank of the Danube, on the Castle hill in Budapest, around Matthias Church. It was designed and built between 1895 and 1902 on the plans of Frigyes Schulek.

From the towers and the terrace a panoramic view exists of Danube, Margaret Island, Pest to the east and the Gellért Hill. Its seven towers represent the seven Magyar tribes that settled in the Carpathian Basin in 896.
